An Angel's Thoughts

AN ANGEL’S THOUGHTS

Angel X, Gina Marie Bernardini, 1968
Angel X, Gina Marie Bernardini, 1968

Sleepless nights spent alone,
Wondering who if anyone did wrong,
Feeling regret for what she’d done,
Afraid to see the morning sun,
Another day soon to arrive,
No one there at her side,
She didn’t want it to be this way,
But things have a reason for being this way,
She sits alone in front of her PC,
Wondering if someone is listening,
As she types the words of woe,
That from her hands forever flow,
She cries as she imagines him holding her close,
Smelling his body against her own,
Wanting life to end just like that,
But knowing that it will only lead to regret,
The memory subsides but still she can’t sleep,
The angel cries as Heaven clips her wings.
