Amber

Amber

A Poem by Danielle Calhoun

AMBER

Her eyes are staring at me I see them bright as the morning
I know it is a dream I have but it seems so real and I am glad
To have this vision it brings me comfort for in my haste

It is a reminder

Life is what you want it to be as long as you always

Forever believe

In beauty so seldom unseen by many,
The Pegasus takes me on a journey

She spreads her wings as she does rise
Her head so elegant in the light
I touch her mane and it is like silk
Her body so large it is almost like stone

But it is no statue and it is no lie
There is a fantasy in the back of my mind
It seems so real, as I refuse to believe
That it is nothing but a poet’s dream
