Purpose

Purpose

A Poem by E.R. Sweeney

I find myself on the edge of giving up.
A boat caught in the stormy sea with no land in sight.
Maybe, just maybe, there’s not a plan for us.
But I'll wade through the waves to search for the light.
It's the same story, just a different chapter.
Let's see it through to the epilogue,
With smiles and tears and laughter.
I no longer long for purpose in this life,
For I have found it.
I love you.
And that's all there is to it.
