Song of Damnation

Song of Damnation

A Poem by ghjckukc offcuo
"

Like witnesses gather to behold unholy writ
Gutted and butchered betrayed by their whit
Lasting in Hell tormented obsession
Within blasphemy, we’re all Satan’s possession

What destiny had in store for me
A ghoul bound departure from sea
Frantic and bleak I trudged along
Bidding adieu with this, Damnation’s song

High held in my own denial
I’d walked through God’s golden mile
Too poor to buy directions
Lay lost I found no corrections

Seemed I’d stay a goat in the field
Without God’s loving shield
Betrayed and forsaken all alone and dying
For my life and soul I had to keep trying

Just what was there left for me
So many things forever I’d never be
Dramatics ran on as the dirt found my face
Fallen, I lay, death raising his mace

And just as I was letting go of all
A man arrived to answer my call
He stood tall, blackest of eyes, hand held out to me
“Walk along my winding path, if you long to be free”

I took his hand and stood tall too
Was there really anything else I could do
He granted me wings and a smile too pleasing
“Mortal bodies are yours for the seizing”

Wonderment filled my deepest imagination
If this is true I love damnation
And so with him I arose into a blackened sky
Waving the weakness of God goodbye

This is where I began, the start of my story
The beginning of my beautiful long lasting glory
Man and Woman theirs lives for my taking
God is the one I find most worth forsaking

Well, its a good poem, but being a Catholic, I did'nt like the subject matter much. The poem however was well assembled, well, written, and expressed true emotion. Good job
