Black and Lonely Night

such a black and lonely night
wandering through this empty field
the cold wind gnaws at me
I settle down to hide from the bite
wrapping my wings and flames around me
and I look as the sky lights up
and the comet traces right by me
followed by thousands of shooting stars
each one another fallen wish
they burn brightest just before burning out
as the ones that last collide with one another
the smoldering pieces rain down around me
on this black and lonely night
I watched all the worlds wishes disappear
and in the chaos of that fateful night
amongst the flames and ashes
I see his face
