Silence, save for a a subtle ring
numbness, save for a remote pressure
blindness, save for an obscured light
scentless, save for a far-off breath

the senses are gone
save for the dreams
that fade away to reality

so serene the infinite seems
the pleasure of eternity
to rejoice hand-in-hand, to dance into the sun
to awake to not another day, but to a painless never land

a wish is but a fallen star
a creature of desire
a calling for what truly lies within
