Being Me

Being Me

A Poem by Dane V. Loviel

Being Me
Being me is hard, you see
Much harder than being you.
If you were me then you would see
The things I have to do.

Being me, I truly think
Is a curse from Hell,
Which is why I have decided
To be someone else!

Oh me Oh my, it seems that I
Have done something quite wrong.
My new body's old and rotten,
I used to be young and strong!

It seem I must my plan adjust
For I am quite upset.
This time I swear I will prepare,
And age I won't forget.

Now that I am another man-
oh wait, this is a whirl,
There's not much joy, for once a boy
I am now a girl!

Now here I sit and must admit
This mission had no hope.
But now I see that being me
Is what I like the most.

Now let me say, after this day
I know one thing is true,
Being us, my friend, is just
What we were born to do!

Dane V. Loviel
I decided to move away from the more serious tone I usually write with.

This is inspiring to me for me to just be myself. I loved how it was serious yet sprinkled with just a hint of humor. I love it. It is a great piece. It is awesome.
