Not Sex

Not Sex

A Poem by Dane V. Loviel
"

The intimacy of two men in free verse.

"
This is not sex.
This is:
A synchronicity of hearts, pulses and souls in alignment.
A shakey breath, inhaled by another set of unsteady lungs.
This is not sex.
This is:
A tightened grip on the body of a partner and a looser grip on the body of one's own.
A twist of the hips and a parting of the lips, a nonverbal message.
This is not sex.
This is:
A contraction of muscles, a kinetic confession
A thrust, the bringing together of two forms, alike yet playing such very different roles.
This is not sex.
This is:
A hot forge of internal combustion and compulsion, the birthplace of freedom
A breaking of rules and a bonding of lives, taboo and complacent.
This is not sex.
This is:
An arc of electricity passed through the skin
A burst of raw and uninhibited passion
This is not sex.
This is:
A ritual of trust
A pair of men with no glancing thought of social acceptance.
This is not sex.
This:
A mutual climax
The pinnacle of human form, where man can meld with man
This is not sex.
This is:
Making love.
MY love.
