I watch my color fade

Like the leave change in fall

Swirling, confusing, shakiness

I`m overwhelmed by it all

Because suddenly my life changed

And you walked away with my heart

You laughed, flirted, and smiled

While my life fell apart

It took me a long time

To realize this change was needed

I could not be held hostage

I constantly competed

Your attention I desired

But that no longer shall be

I needed a chance to be myself

A chance to be free

And found that perfect someone

Who lifts my spirits high

With him at my side, smiling

I can almost touch the sky

It's refreshing to find a poem that is not so whiny or morbid :P

It's hard for me to write such uplifting poems - and that's what I take from this - it's a sort of reaffirmation of hope and resilience.

Liked the rhymes too, almost didn't notice them at first.

love does a lot, but , what is love? how do we know that we are in it ? how do we know if we are loved ?
try to answer that
