A Blend Of Selves

A Blend Of Selves

A Poem by Lizzy I

i wonder about the girl that everyone sees
the one who's not inside of me
the one who can smile day and night
the one who doesn't have to fight
for in my heart there is no light
just a girl who cowers, scared with fright
because the real self who she sees
is who she doesn't want to be
that girl who wants to end her life
stays awake through the night
she watches the other girl smile
while she cries
she watches the other girl live
while she dies
That other girl stands there in the light
she listens as her demons fight
that girl and who she wants to be
blend together to become
ME

Always internal struggle in a life. With age the fight ain't no easier. I advice find your place and people who want the same thing. Maybe you can find some happiness. I like the direct statements in this poem. "Me" is a special word. There is only one of you. Thank you for the excellent poem.

Good flow throughout the poem. You can write very touching poems!

Excellent flow of thought and sentiment. The dichotomy our human existence. Concise and equally poignant in the face of self-realization.
