But I Can't

But I Can't

A Poem by Stephanie Allen

Let it go
I tell myself
Every time I breathe in
Just release your doubts

[Chorus]
But I can't, but I can't
Try as I might not to let it take hold
Live each day like it's my last
But, but I can't

Just stop caring
What everyone thinks
It doesn't matter at all
No use giving a damn

[Chorus]

Lying in bed
Under covers at night
Wondering why
It is so hard

Why's it so hard?

About
I'm an 18-year-old college freshman trying to figure out how I ended up being so liberal in a family of...well, not liberals. Perhaps the fact that I spent my formative years in Seattle has something.. more..
