I Reach Out For You

I Reach Out For You

A Poem by grey

I reach out for you

But I fall flat

The impact of the ground

Shakes my bones

And my loneliness shakes my soul

I am in isolation

But what is that noise?

It’s like millions of whispers

Oh! It’s the secrets of the world

They’re in her tears, in his hints

I’m alone but people surround me

Their fabric brushes my shoulder

And their shoes leave marks on my heart

I’m drowning

But I live on dry land

How is it possible to drown when you’re crossing the road?

How silly this world is…

How silly a heart is…

Giving itself to someone who doesn’t want it

How silly a mind is…

Imagining things that will never happen

A heart can still want love, even if it knows it will never get it

A mind can still picture you laying in the road, even if you will never do it

Imagination is a wondrous thing

But it is also cruel

How dare it make me think these things

How dare I not give in
