Tired Brain Freeze

Tired Brain Freeze

A Poem by Dan Bullock
"

Everytime I have a break, I come back with a different approach, this set of work is all stripped down, back to basic's stylee...:)

"

 Tired, brain freeze

Haven’t slept properly

For seventeen days

So darkness is evident

As I move along

I saw a speck of an evening

Sunset

Before I was home

The other day

It filled my heart

A woman across from me

Checks her new hat

And a bag full of clean things

With labels and possibilities

Woven into them

I trust tomorrow

I have to let it come

I believe

It will

Surprise me

I like the contrast between how you feel and the woman and her things she has collected or purchased. Interesting dichotomy. Nicely woven poem.

I like the way that the mood shifted from downtrodden to hopeful at the sight of someone else who seems optimistic. Emotions can be very contagious, and sometimes just being around someone upbeat, even a stranger can change our outlook on our own life.

Impressionism in words. Liked it, especially the last verse which is full of youthful optimism. Tommorow? Heck, yes! I'll have some of that! I wonder if the best tomorrows are those when you have no idea what will happen?
