He faltered on the tracks

Sixty years of emotion

Tears saturate eyes

Arms wrap in commotion

 

I try to read the situation

Learn from grief

I became the foundation

For relief

Sparse and to the point, you leave the reader to flesh out what lies behind your grandfather's sudden emotion. You, as his direct line of descent are the obvious target for any outpouring, though your own understanding may not be complete until you yourself have experienced a life as long as his. Interesting read.

What a nice little poem! I thorougly enjoyed reading it...your style is beautiful and barely sparse, with a certain amount of solidness and acidity...at least that's what I have gathered. Not usually a style I come across! Very original.
