A Poem by Dana Michelle
"

Just you know.. here. Something from me just now - no idea what it means.

"

I listen to the sound of the rain outside my window,

close my eyes just to pretend that the wind

seeping through the sill is something else,

cool upon my flesh, something else,

like your breath warm upon my skin.

I listen to the sound of the rain outside my window,

remember us curled up in the middle of a storm,

the images that never happen still there in my memory,

my fingers gliding over your arm

while I told you secrets and you gave me promises,

promises that you couldn't give - broken.

I listen to the sound of the rain outside my window,

pleading to erase all the pain from my mind,

to forget the dark, subtle passion in your eyes,

to forget the words you whispered into my ear,

and to remember that you broke me - shattered me.

You disregarded my emotions, thought only of yourself -

even being selfish, I gave you my heart,

knowing I'd never get it back.

Reviews are welcome; I didn't really try to give this a structure, did not pay attention to grammar - I just threw it together. :)

About
I wanted to get an account somewhere else, but then I decided my writing wasn't worth more than Writer's Cafe. Enjoy. Actually, I write novellas, novels, poetry, pretty much anything I can. :) I'm not.. more..
