Mistaken

Mistaken

A Poem by Dana Marie

Words are hollow

so I can hide inside

as our actions

control the night

dancing sweetly

sipping slow

taking it in

so we can let it go

Arms embracing necks

shoulders feeling warmth

please let me forget

the day this night was born

because up until this moment

I have not been alive

What I saw as reality

was something still contrived

created by my hometown

developed by my ways

hidden under mounds of

petrified days
