Begging for Change

Begging for Change

A Poem by Dana Marie

There was a funeral; nobody came,

The arrangements donated by the grace of the church.

Though he hadn't believed in what they preached

They came to his aid all the same.

Then again, He never shall never know, can't by what they say,

That someone, they as  a whole beseached

Their own wandering soul, a wondering soul.

Took the power, the time, the money to the grave.
