MarriageA Poem by Dana MarieAnother man wearing his father's clothes Uncomfortably awkward on the edge of his life Like the tallest tree he continually grows though he only grows more dead inside With the loss of all his hopes and dreams the shoes his father left get heavy He'll go home and in sillence scream Tell himself this time he's ready Another woman sees the homemaker on tv Spends her time trying to become her very best Sees the loving wife and kids in the movie Feels any empty echo that will never be impressed With the loss of all her self esteem and silly hope she keeps on cleaning to releive her ache Though the family continually makes little jokes They never recognize the insufficeint pain © 2010 Dana Marie |
