Second Guessing

Second Guessing

A Poem by Dana Marie

I sat with love in a dimly lit venue

passed his grace on a crowded street

said his name in a small conversation

held him close to slow songs beat

took his words like a martyr the bible

felt his meaning as trees feel the wind

caught myself before I felt the waves crash

yet I'm still drowning in what could have been
