Momentarily Forever

Momentarily Forever

A Poem by Dana Marie

It's nice to know you're as sad as me

lets lie together in mutual self pity

count the scars that we have inflicted

laugh at remarks that we deflected

rewind our minds to trace the tracks

of footsteps that we can't take back

They made their marks in the sands of time

and were filled back up with love and lies

to the brim and over the top

and still no reason of which to stop

And we'll keep going on and on

right through morning and past the dawn

Laying together in mutual obsession

with life and death and hell and heaven

amaze ourselves with constellations

linger away from those aggravations
