wear...

wear...

A Poem by Jane Olivia Davis
"

a memory forgotton...brought back to life

"

youre wearing my tshirt again

again...

the one i used to wear all the f*****g time

until i got too fat to squeeze my big belly through it

it's a little cracked

and busted

and faded

but i still love it...

when i look at you

wearing my shirt

i imagine what other people saw when they looked at me

when i had it on

what i looked like when it fit me

how i felt

the hell i raised...

but now

youve confiscated it

claimed it silently as your own

strutting around our little house

bare bottomed

comfortable

sexy

beautiful...

wearing nothing but my shirt...

and when you wear it

every memory attached to it surrounds you

and when you wear it

i ache and cringe a little because i cant

brown

old

tattered

worn...

and when you wear it

i love you more...

little aches drum into long scenes of what's the word. . .you would know what word would fit. I am stunned.
