pillar...

pillar...

A Poem by Jane Olivia Davis
"

placed--the entity of the effigy of the entirety of the empty--where i was left

"

i placed you on a pillar of brick

strong and permanent-

witholding withstanding forever

i placed you on a pillar of glass

beautifully clear and flawless-

shattered and scattered beneath the weight

i placed you on a pilllar of earth

with bare and busted soil covered hands-

eroding quickly at my feet

i placed you on a pillar of light

but the darkness surrounded and overpowered-

there fell a shadow

i placed you on a pillar of water

but the rush and the strength of the tide overwhelmed-

washing it away

i placed you on a pillar of hope

but distraught and dispair overcame-

crumbling and collapsed in rubble
