sometimes its comforting to revel (wallow?) in our introversion...but a world all our own can be as daunting a place a the one filled with people who don't know what it's like to have to hunt for words to fill the tank of conversation enough that it doesn't run try....and what good is talking for the sake of not wanting to stop talking because then, you know...silence. extroverts don't know what to do with silence. introverts revel and create worlds. i try to straddle both, but you painted a comfortable picture here for me, dana. Thank you.
Don't beat yourself up. It's a great description of yourself, it shows that you are anything but one dimensional. These are the lines that spoke to me,
"occasionally forgetting to speak
as a mental fantasy
engulfs reality. "
I understand this completely.
"a scream in a world
where the introvert
is constantly silenced."
There can be no more accurate description of the true life of the introverted.
There is more strength in this write than you give credit to my friend.

thank you so much, your heart felt review made me smile :)
An exercise? Girl- you're nuts. This was so great. My favorite lines were:
"losing myself in the pages
of stories to forget that i must
eventually write my own. "
So great. :)
I absolutely love this...this speaks to me as loudly as anything you've ever written...you'd be surprised by how much of myself I found in this piece...wonderful work dear friend.

there most definitely was. i constantly find myself inspired by the work of others on this site :)
I enjoyed this one, not sure why you don't think it's good, says so much...very relalatable Dana, I think that's what stirs us most in poetry. Great read!
Good even if it is an exercise. For one exercise, choose a word from a dictionary and write about the word for 5 minutes...only 5 minutes...without stopping...or thinking really. This sometimes gets me going. Keep at it...bobc
