A Poem by Dana Alsamsam

just like most things
my heartbreak
looked so disturbingly
beautiful
held in the curvature
of your fingers.

at least, you
were holding me.

You captured so much depth in just a few lines. I enjoyed this.

Holy Dana, this one wraps around the heart in a darkly manner. So few words that scream on the page. Well pen'd!

Wow simple but yet you say everything with those few words, emotional and beautiful. Loved it :)

I feel the pain of resignation here...it's all too real, but so beautifully put...well done my friend :)

I get the softest hint that this is your reaction to a painted image of you ...but I am often wrong, as you know, Dana! In any case, a fine cameo piece. P.

Beautiful...I've written about artist's hands before (I'm a hand junkie...lol). I love this concept, because sometimes even the ugliest of things look beautiful in the hands that we love so deeply. Bittersweet...the light and the dark of it, the hard and the soft.

held in the curvature
of your fingers. -- these lines make me swoon...in terms of my hand fetish, that is :)

Well, done, Dana!!!

Ooooh such images you describe. The small graces that but for a keen observer would be washed away by the same tears that flood ones heart when love is lost. Great stuff Dana.
