![]() Writer's DissonanceA Poem by Dana Alsamsam![]() i met a boy.![]()
I feel my bones collapse
Sweetly against my skin Beneath your anomalous touch. I'm a writer, You say, alluring, daring me, Inviting me in to your world. You wrap your hand Around the corner of my existence Pull it in for a hug, and ask Benevolently, Can I take a look? You didn't have to ask. Your name burns softly When I write it, feels Light when spoken aloud. I read your writing, and feel My thoughts collapse Into the consolatory wings of your own, Undressing me with your words, Caressing the dissonance in perfect syllables. I think of your enchanting eyes, Knock on the door of your being, And say, Come with me.
