Morning TalkA Poem by Dana Alsamsamhere's my mind hoping to be waking up with someone in a city apartment...sighThe expanse above us loosens snow into narratives The sky projected, white on white, developing The city from its side like a photo print. We are safe from the white washed, cubic zirconium city In our box of richly tinted apartment glass Blanketed with billowing white fabric: a city of our own. I search the arch of your back behind one window Drawing out its firm certainty, a point of contact Indented like brail, learning each hollow syllable To retrace and repeat like a book of words I’ve memorized. The fractured rays of light reflect off of the snowy abyss And return to fill your sleeping body, making you whole. © 2013 Dana AlsamsamReviews
