Morning Talk

Morning Talk

A Poem by Dana Alsamsam
"

here's my mind hoping to be waking up with someone in a city apartment...sigh

"

The expanse above us loosens snow into narratives

The sky projected, white on white, developing

The city from its side like a photo print.

We are safe from the white washed, cubic zirconium city

In our box of richly tinted apartment glass

Blanketed with billowing white fabric: a city of our own.

I search the arch of your back behind one window

Drawing out its firm certainty, a point of contact

Indented like brail, learning each hollow syllable

To retrace and repeat like a book of words I’ve memorized.

The fractured rays of light reflect off of the snowy abyss

And return to fill your sleeping body, making you whole.

Just quietly lovely. We are safe. I feel safe here. So comfortable in this world we've made....

Yeah there's nothing like that morning afterglow while you're sharing it with that special someone. Great adaptation and illustration of it within this uniquely creative written piece. Great job. :)

thank you for reading and for your kind words! they mean a lot:)
yeah, i do agree with you in this write. It's morning here where i do live but it's too warm and sun's gonna be on my head after an hour. I can view some views of your this write because this is a write that i've read out in my morning and you made my morning by this write. some lines're so powerful and just suited with that. I loved this one "We are safe from the white washed, cubic zirconium city
In our box of richly tinted apartment glass"

nicely penned and a great thought to write this. Once again you wrote a great and an awesome piece.
