Little Red Chair

Little Red Chair

A Poem by Dana Ferguson
"

This is something based off of a nightmare I had as a child

"
Outside the church,
sat a little red chair.
The sky was gray,
a storm was on the way.
A little girl was there,
and she wanted the chair.
The closer she went,
the less the wind would relent.
Before she knew,
a twister had grew,
and had come for her on that day.
Grabbing her swiftly,
it came so quickly,
and carried her far, far away.

Thank you! :)
Reminiscent of the line from wizard of Oz "You're not in Kansas anymore". Dreams can be very strange creatures, especially recurring dreams or dreams you have as a child. The red chair against the grey sky would be seen as a warning of danger, but in dreams, we are unable to choose their path.
Thank you for sharing what makes me remember my own childhood dreams.
