![]() Damn That DressA Poem by Dana Ferguson![]() Ladies, you may know how this goes..![]()
I saw it, it's mine!
Peach-colored and perfect. My mom always said ruffles were cute, it had some on the collar. My friend with me agreed, so I took it and tried it on. It was going good so far, but wait... something is wrong. The dress is tight, but only part of the problem. The zipper will not come up. I call my friend for help, her face says it's not going to fit. Now I'm trying to pry it off, it's up to my shoulders and stops. Crap! The zipper got hung on a string, panicked I stand distressed. Calling my friend for help, even she can't free the zipper. Fearful of ruining the dress, my hands start to get clammy. I tell my friend I've got it, and now is the beginning of the show. Alone in the stall I panic, what if I tear the dress? I look in the mirror and stare, it was a funny moment indeed. Arms outstretched like a zombie, hunched over like Quasimodo. If only you saw it, you'd think I was into bondage. Carefully I pull the dress off, after minutes of small maneuvering. Damn that dress and its ruffles, never mind that I got the wrong size.
