Comfortable

Comfortable

A Poem by D.T.

I remember the day I first saw you.
I remember the night when we first met.
You asked my name and I didn't say.
I hadn't realized yet.
I remember the day after we first met.
You sat beside me,
asked how I was,
and I smiled then I turned my head.
 I wasn't comfortable yet.
I could feel something coming from you.
You were trying so hard
to get through.
But the small things
are what scare me the most,
so I turned my head
when you got close.
I remember each day after we met.
Our interactions grew as you grew onto me,
but I still wasn't comfortable yet.
Then you were gone.
After the wonderful things you said,
I didn't try hard enough,
so you left.
You moved on,
because I wasn't comfortable yet.
I liked you,
more than I would show.
But I didn't know that you would go.
I wasn't comfortable yet.
But someone else was.

Might have beens are useless unless we learn from them. A lot of feeling in this one. Well done.

No, it's not bad D.T. Sometimes people go a separate way and we regret we weren't what we wish we could have been. Life happens that way. I know, I've been there. Nice writing. :)
