There's A Man

I originally wrote this when I was about 13 so it's not the best. I really wrote it as a song but it's still basically a poem.

Theres a man in the mirror

who doesn't like what he sees

you see now it's gotten clearer

he's not as good as he used to be

theres a woman a few shades darker

In her heart and her mind

and now she is seeing

that with him she doesn't have much more time

he used to not be this way 

he used to be everything she thought she’d ever want 

he used to be the best of anyone 

but now hes a monster in the dark 

let her go let her be free

she needs to be gone

she's got more to live for

you dont need her anymore 

you shouldn't keep her anymore

because you dont love her anymore 

and now this man he is screaming

at the very top of his lungs

telling this woman to stop

that she can’t go anywhere 

that she's not allowed to run 

and she wants to call for help

but she sees its too late

her cries only make it worse

so she hides somewhere away

three shots have been fired

anger, intoxication, and no self-control

theres a woman in heaven

who is dancing in the light 

and a man down on earth

on his way to prison because of one night
