Night Mood

She whispered, ''Are you in the mood?

''You sound like my lover, whispered sweet words''.

He asked, ''Tell me about your lovers? Have you fallen, was your heart broken''?

''Oh darling, please don't ask''..

My heart remembers, but has healed since,

He is covered with shields, protected now.

I don't want to feel.

''We just met, it was like yesterday, the pain immeasurable.

I wanted to hide into my shell and never return''.

''Tell me more'', he whispered.

His words touched her,

she hesitated for one moment, ''it's too early''.

She put her finger on her lips, ''later, later, we have time''.

In the tenderness of the night they fell asleep in each others arms,

feeling the peace surrounding them.

He kissed her eyes slowly, as she slept.

''Sleep my new friend, we have all the time in the world''.
