The Seven Cloud Theory

The Seven Cloud Theory

A Story by Dana
"

Yes it's true

"

Have you ever looked up at the sky and wondered.... What is exactly behind those clouds, I mean what lies above them?

Well this is my story, as an inquisitive and curious little girl, I wondered how many skies there were to the ''Big man" up there, and how would I travel there, could I use a ladder?

I had this theory that there were seven skies to eternal wish fulfilment, and in my determination I remember using my dad's huge and heavy, powerful torch which i shone up into the sky, squinting to see the next sky above it, but to no avail! In fact all I saw in the night sky were only more clouds, clouds ranging from cotton wool, piles of mashed potato faces and cumulus. It was hopeless, they were just fantastical distractions. My belief was unbroken, I was still convinced of the Seven Cloud Theory. I guess I kept it alive everytime I found a floating dandelion seed i blew it up into the skies above and make believe my wishes come true!  (I'd like to say my wishes came true, perhaps they did- just not always as I expected).

In the movie, "The Matrix" there are several powerful lines. The one I remember very clearly is when the little boy is spoon bending and says "there is no spoon". Perhaps "there is no sky" is the answer to the question of how many layers there are before the big man appears. Failing that, just look for his beard and climb up it.
