Shakespearean-Like

Shakespearean-Like

A Poem by Liam

You've always been very Shakespearian-like,
Living off the oo's and ah's of your peers.
You love to leave them hanging on to you every word,
Loving the attention from being center stage.
But you would never admit this, no,
You live a quiet, simple life, nothing special, not at all.
You strut around and let them see your skirt tails flow behind you,
Wearing the latest fashion that brings the admirers around.
They follow you on all fours,
Barking for you to stop.
But this is what you wanted, no,
The admiration of the rabble?
No, no, they chase you home,
Keeping you locked away behind your doors.
You've yellowed into 'stage right' now,
Just the background to a dim play no one understands.
Your fancy clothes all torn,
Shredded at the ends.
You still walk around with your head held high because after all,
You wear the crown.
