Instafamous

A Poem by Liam

Today, I find myself drifting down a river in the harsh cold of a rainy morning,
My thoughts and fears floating all around me, as I sank slowly to the shallow depths.
My fingertips are the last to submerge,
They twist and circle the surface from below to wave a last goodbye.
My heart acts as an anchor,
Pulling me down with its heavy weight.
I let it all just flow around me,
Taking in the fish and the creatures that scurry away from me in a quick flash.
The rocks feel slimy but smooth and I'm swept down the current,
Then swept up by the grey sky.
The twinkle of light that sometimes breaks through hits the surface and I can almost touch it,
But I'm afraid I'm giving up air for depth.
And my arms and legs just float but they don't seem to be attached,
After all, we must have feeling to be attached.
The bubbles are growing less frequent and it seems to be getting darker here,
The nighttime seems to be coming in quickly but I didn't see my beloved sunset.
Thoughts seem to slowly creep by now,
Slowly swirl by...
