Dead Love

Dead Love

A Poem by Liam

The love I look for can only be a fantasy,
No one can fight for me like I need them too.
For now, I remain alone in their absence,
I took up smoking and drinking myself into a daze.
Without the handle, the faucet keeps running,
I too, will keep running until I've become a blur in the background.
I'm messy like this careless writing,
My words keep flowing with no end in sight.
I don't have anyone to be my stop light,
No one to slow the traffic of my thoughts.
Anxiety beats at my temples,
Blood pumping rapidly.
I'm ready to run,
I'm ready to scream.
It's about time to get lost,
Time to find a place deep in the wood.
Quietly I will live,
I will forget how to talk.
The only sound I will know is the clickity clack of my keys,
My views will be creatures, trees, and a bright screen.
Shush now,
Be quiet.
