Dark Light

Dark Light

A Poem by Liam

It's not as dark as you think,
With everything there's a dark and light.
When you lay beneath a starry night,
Do you see only the dark?
No, you see the bright stars smiling down on your awe-struck face.
Can coffee not also be lightened when milk is added?
So everything reflects this theory,
A mirror held up to the world.
I'm not tortured,
I'm not alone.
In fact, I find that I'm quite the opposit.
The creatures of the forest befriended me in the dark,
But I could see them clear as day as they carried me away.
I will forever more be unseen by the ugly things,
Be forever kept in the dark light.
