Colorado

Colorado

A Poem by Liam

It's almost correct to say that nobody left because I was never there.
No, my heart was left in Colorado.
My love dwells in it's mountains.
Yes, my soul stayed in Colorado;
It was me who never truly left.
My eyes never say you strangers again.
My mouth never talked to you like you thought.
No, my heart was left in Colorado,
I don't think I ever truly left.
I abandoned this sinking ship while it was still sailing.
I left you all there to drown,
Because I never rested, until I set foot on Coloradoan ground.
I won't let you know when my train passes through,
There's only one place that I'm heading to.
If you see my wheels speeding on by,
Don't try to flag me down, and here's why:

My love dwells in Colorado and it's me who never truly left.

i love this - being deeply connected in spirit to a place - even though physically we are absent in a certain place - nothing can ever keep the heart and mind from coming back to the special place we hold on to

best,
steph
