Camp of Loneliness

Camp of Loneliness

A Poem by Liam

I used to find my home where you would lie your head.
What happened to make my joy fall to the ground, dead?
Was it life?
I could blame it on all my strife.
Yet, here you are, visiting my Camp of Loneliness.
You keep trying to warm me up with holiness.
Why do I keep trying to fight,
And accept my final light?

You keep rescuing me when I wander from camp,
And I'm found, waiting for you.
Take me into your arms again,
You've done it one, two, three times, maybe ten.
You've never asked me to look back,
I'm cursed to keep carrying an empty sack.
Please don't leave me here alone.
You're the only love that I know.

For the last time, you try to wrap me in your arms,
Just to protect me from my own self harm.
