Maybe We Should, Lest Both We CouldA Poem by DalfontionIts not everyday, that everyday happensNow looking out through prism versions Cut colours true and surreal Within such clasp of handful hours Within this revolution I lie within this prison I live within this cell I can reach no goals No purpose Only measure Such this endless wheel Don't think I can escape this monstrosity Emancipation of it's terminal velocity Only moments spinning hands overlap A second, a minute, to painful owner's I heel I see across and your beauty profound But like Midas fools I dared to touch And such touch watches a Midas drown It's not the value, of gold such as before me It's only value, is that given, is that in reality So slink away do I in silent shadows Slink away such fallen hero shame I should not be here I should never be there I should have never been near Maybe we could, and maybe we should But for now we are done And for now we are undone
