A Prayer For My Beloved Wife

An old Valentines Poem, I wrote for my wife, a few years back

Lord thank you for this woman you’ve led me to

Thank you for her love, tenderness and devotion to you

In her I have found a companion to live

A woman I wish for, my everything to give

 

This woman I’ve found, I love so much

I long for each kiss, embrace, and each touch

To go on forever with her by my side

Always looking to you our lives to guide

 

As we near the start of our lives blended

I think how through you our hearts have mended

Through you, we’ve learned we can love once more

We can have more love, joy, and hope in store

 

I thank you for her on this Valentine’s Day

Because of her, I can truly say

This day and the future renew my hope

That through life’s trials I can better cope

 

Because you Lord, have given me a mate

And have assured me that it’s never too late

To know and to be loved, and truly feel love

And to remember to be thankful for gifts from above
