Remember (Don't leave)

Remember (Don't leave)

A Poem by Dakotah Bledsoe

Dreaming it all went right
still wishing everyday you never took away your life
i remember listening to the sound of the rain
and no matter what weather it was it never washed away the pain
of watching you slowly drift away
into the black hole in your veins
i pray everyday that you come back to us
and relive what you started
you bring forth the art
that you began in the soul
reaching out to save
from the life that you stole
from yourself
and  no matter what words i come up
with to say
i still cant express it

no matter how many times i try to forget
i cant let the past go
i feel it makes me sick
and i remember writing rhymes
thinking that no matter what
i still had a friend in mind
but the friend of mine
drew slowly a picture
on a paper
framed it in his life
with image of his savior
and of course
the box full of lyrics that you wrote
and every line i quote
is the same message i cant expose
i hope one day that you remember
remember how much i cared so desperately
that you defeated your addictions
get through this i swear you wont regret it
the demon will die as long you let it

now im not saint
never was i one to blame
pointing the finger
was never part of my game
but the part of my game
was when i gained
a true friend
never gave up till the end
and i dont care what they say
i still think about you everyday
i express what you gave
my life is so subtle
when a friend is in trouble
i could never turn my back
no matter what the fiction mutters
he was muttering the word
like a wing of a bird
broken tattered and torn
a tie wilted into my life
i could never sever
you will always be my friend always and forever
