"

Last week, my tooth hurt when I was lying on my bed. I was impatient to wait till the next day, so I took some medicine in order to feel better.

As Joyce Meyer said “patience is not the ability to wait but how you act while you’re waiting.”

In the morning, I called the dentist office at the first time.

“Hi, Could I have an appointment right now? My tooth really hurts,” I said.

“If your tooth seriously hurts, you can come right now, my schedule is tight today but your case is our priority,” the dentist secretary replied.

I went ahead to the dentist office. I found just one patient in the waiting room. The seat was pretty old but comfortable. The sun shone through the window, it made the room so romantic, the place was bright and quiet. I liked it so much. I preferred to wait by reading a small documentary book which I brought with me, as usual.

Later, the dentist assistant told me that it was my turn. I was ready to open my mouth. I closed my eyes to forget the pain. I imagined I was walking on the soft sand by the Tahiti beach. This image helped me to be more confident and to unwind.

After the dentist checked my teeth, he told me I had the cavity in my tooth. It needed to be fixed, so he started to use his electric device. I heard a noisy sound like a carpentry machine cutting wood. It felt as though I was in a factory. However, I had to be patient in order to fix my tooth.

I learned from my dentist to be patient with myself. I also learned how to live with my pain silently in order to be better in the future.

As Saint Francis the Sales said “Have patience with all things, but, first of all with yourself.”

“I can’t stand to bear any device on my tooth at all,” I said

“Stop worrying about your tooth, be relaxed, your case is not complicated, it takes just five minutes” The dentist replied.

I grinned, I believe him. He is has a caring disposition. After a few minutes, he went on, “I’ve finished, thank you for your patience. I kept the nerve in your tooth.

I could have cut it but I preferred to keep it. Since the nerve helps the tooth to be alive and strong as long as possible. Fortunately, you came in the nick of time, the early we check the illness, the easier it is to fix. Remember to brush your teeth after each meal.”

“Thank you so much for your tips, I feel well now…I promise you that from now on, I will care about each part of my body…..”

I have been given good teeth, eyes, ears, lungs, health….so I’m responsible for protecting each part of my body in a good way.

Before having the pain in my tooth, it had a cavity in it. The problem was the lack of my efficient intervention in due time to avoid the cavity.

I learned from my dentist that If I had taken care of myself more, I would have suffered less.

Later if any part of my body hurts me, I know it is calling me to quickly take care of it. The more I neglect it, the more I will suffer.

If my eyes hurt me, I won’t stay up watching movies on TV or working long time on my laptop because I have to use them carefully and take care of my eyes.

If my ears hurt me, I won’t listen to loud music or use my cell phone for a long time, so I turn them off after working to take care of my ears.

If my lungs hurt me, I won’t smoke cigarettes, so I will give up smoking cigarettes to take care of my lungs.

If I gain weight, I will exercise, so I will exercise every week and I will eat healthy food to keep a good shape.

If my business is down, I will devise a new strategy to save money, so I will put many hours into the last studies in order to change my perspectives, create a new ideas for innovation.

Mostly, I don’t forget to be patient. As Warren Buffet said “The stock market is a device for transferring money from impatient to patient.”

I infer that by being patient, I can reap what I have sown and my patience will pay off.

I can obtain peace of mind attained only through self-satisfaction by doing things to the best of my ability.

My dentist is my inspiration for being patient with others. He is a brain. He studied hard to have a good degree, so he uses his knowledge to give us a tremendous service.

Before being patient with us, he has been patient with himself since he has devoted many years to study with a great passion.

He is always clean and neat, he is a team player. He never uses one word of profanity. He is never late. He is a stickler for that. Then I’m perceptive for that, too.

My dentist instilled those principals in me to be on time, never criticize someone else.

He is a patriotic person for our country. He didn’t leave to go live abroad as his friends in order to make an easier living or to make more money. He lives within his means. He is also thrifty because he buys just what he needs.

What I’ve learned from my dentist is that the accumulation of material possessions or the attainment of prestige is not necessarily indicative of success. However, the trick to success is to stick to your own plan when others around you seem to be getting ahead faster than you.

Being patient with your own dreams, never trying to be better than someone else, doing the best of which you are capable to be successful.

As Gandhi said “Patience and perseverance, if we have them, overcome mountains of difficulties.”

After giving a good service to us, we feel that he has loved what he does as job. So I learned from my dentist that I have to love my job in order to improve the service I give too.

My dentist is patient for checking the cavity of my tooth. He is also so patient when he carefully fixed it.

So I learned from my dentist that in order to be patient with others, we have to love them, so we have to make a relationship as patient and dentist.

As soon as we have a little bit of problem, we have to have patience to discuss any problem in detail in order to solve it definitely. As the proverb said “Patience is the key which solves all problems.”

“God cares about everything that concerns you, so feel free to talk to Him about anything” Joyce Meyer said.

If a couple breaks up that means they had many problems before due of a lack of communication, a lack of listening to each other, a lack of consideration, a lack of encouragement, a lack of respect, a lack of love...a lack of patience.

If a child behaves in strange way that means he has a problem with his tutor, his parents, his teacher, due of a lack of listening, a lack of communication, a lack of consideration, a lack of encouragement, a lack of respect, a lack of love...a lack of patience.

If we make relationships with each other like a dentist and his patient in our society, we will certainly have patience and a great love to live with others.

Since sometimes we have to be as a dentist to solve a problem with others, sometimes we are the patient, so we expect to have solutions from others.

If my dentist is my inspiration, my God has been the most patient with me. Since He gives me everything in this life to be patient with myself, with others and with Him by leaving all things that could hurt me in my health, in my mind and in my faith.

The depth and feeling of His patience touches my soul. His patience is a way for me to be more patient with myself and others, whatever happens.

My God is the most patient with me. For many years, He has tested me on anything if I could be patient with my pains, my difficulties, my parents, my siblings, my friends, my colleagues, my goals, my ambitions, my business, my principals, my faith.….and myself.

Have I succeeded my test? Actually, I don’t know but I hope to succeed it to the best of my ability like I’m sure that my dentist has done. So he is a successful person for me.

Well, to tell you the truth, my God would be proud of us if we embedded His attributes of patience within ourselves. After that, we will be like a white flower or an angel in this life, so we will live and love each other.

Great story telling. This did justice in the realm of getting the message across. Great message. There's lot of times where a story can have a great message to aim for, and have a lot of under lining things but then no one gets it, and if no one gets it, then the point has failed. But in my opinion this did well to get the message across. You made it clear, which is why I think it's good. Keep up the good work. What was also great was that I could imagine the story as I read it, and that is also a strong point of stories. The ability to have the reader imagine it because after all we're reading not watching it, but it was as if I was there as I read this, and that is great. Good job once again.

Thank you so much.
Words of wisdom indeed, especially for me since patience is not necessarily a virtue I possess! We should all try to live by the philosophy you express here. I also appreciate that your faith comes through loud and clear. Well written!

The story is so good i loved it.
Keep writing
I only have something to tell you. try to start the sentience with different words, and don't repeat to much. and the most important thing is "show don't tell" you'r trying hard to show your Idea or theme of the story. I felt like i;m reading a personal deary not a short story. but the meaning was amazing.
sorry for the list.
thank you, and good job.

Interesting read. I enjoyed the story and encourage you to keep writing.

I would also encourage you to keep reading. Focus on how professional writers' sentences open and close. What words are they choosing to open with, and in what order?

Looking at the piece written above, you will see that within your paragraphs, the sentences often start with the same word, like "I", "The", This", etc. Try include some diversity in your openings and closings.

Happy writing
