FROM LIFE TO DEATH(The Story Unfolds......)

FROM LIFE TO DEATH(The Story Unfolds......)

A Poem by Daisy
"

The beauty and oneness of life and death. Its a journey where you sleep only to wake upto yourself and realize that you are born again. :)

"
My face is a book of thousand words,
some known yet unknown to me;
And the rest?
The rest is just a silent smile,
woven out of a million dreams...

With age it unfolds,
certain mysteries untold;
Thousands known yet one unknown...
My face is a book of thousand words.

And now the wrinkles,
traversed the trodden path,
round the chin to the temple;
And now and then,
and here and there,
the withered age thus describes-
"My face is a book of thousand words,
one known and yet thousands unknown..."

TO DEATH: one mile to go
FROM LIFE: thousand words to know

I like the way you describe the face as a sort of involuntary diary. Every wrinkle, every cavity tells a story and they accumulate over time.
In the past I've gotten to speak to lots of old people and hear their stories, so this poem definitely speaks to me!

you're welcome dear..
Very cool! I really like the analogy of the face being a "book" - it does a great job of portraying the story that makes up a person's life. The image of wrinkles being like paths is also interesting. My favorite part is the first stanza. Great work!

i do like it...the repetition works well...and yes the face tells so much...it reflects a life lived, especially the eyes...what they have seen and what we can see in them...

Thank You for your good feedback :)
the hidden story of the lives we live
people shape us we shape them
and how people only see the surface of what we are as an individual
elderly people have a great many of amazing stories yet untold
and we can continue to learn from them
this is what i got from reading this
Thank you for sharing your inspiring piece very deep and lovely figurative language (:

Interesting write. The human face is a map of where we have been, and a chart of where we might be going next.
