Where Do You Want To Go?

Where Do You Want To Go?

A Poem by Hebe
"

It could be a dream, it could be real, nobody knows....

"
I was pulled in by that eerie light
there was definitely a left and there was a right
who would have guessed, I wasn't suprised
I was suspended in some sort of contorted time
I looked across and could make out a foggy path
ghostly figures walking, like empty vessels looking lonely and sad
I recoiled in horror and tried to turn my head to the right
that's when I saw the devil, the Prince of the Night
he was wearing a crown of human souls, that were chained to his side
his aura was evil, emanating poison and horror alike

This really is as they described, in all the scriptures, black and white
is this the point if no return, were judgment marks your every word
do the angels give you direction, tell you where to go?
and what does it depend on, I would really like to know
I feel that place is dismal, were misery prevails
no hope is ever witnessed, your sins forever burn
I cannot imagine living with your conscious, regretting all you did
without a hope or comfort, locked behind these gates of steel

I turn my head towards the inviting light
and my body is pulled back without a fight
I feel the nurse gently take my hand
and I am so humbled to be given a second chance!

Hebe,
"Where Do You Want To go"
We as human souls-people are wonderful, complex and very precious. I do feel that your images-dream is not far from what is hellish and the devil and his demonic cohorts are the epitome of evil.
Our lives and this world are so wonderful and also difficult and complex.
It makes sense to me that our need for affirmation and meaning comes from loving, giving and being loved in turn. Why are we like this? Have you ever noticed people seek meaning in many ways. We were made to be loved. Created for a purpose. God is the person who made us. Jesus said; " I came that they might have life and have it more abundantly." We love because He first loved us. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but everlasting life.
Jesus has not set up a material kingdom but a kingdom of power and love which brings people wholeness and healing. You can look up the scriptures I just wrote out by typing them into your computer browser. Kathy

This is one hell of a poem.
To describe what choices we maybe given and to have a left or right path is really thought provoking. Seeing ghostly figures and to see the devil is with hs crown of human souls if you have to choose a path to walk down will be a very scary sight to see.
I do hope I go to the right place...or that an angel will hopefully tell me where to go.
Your poems as usual are of such a high standard.....mesmorising and yet subtlely haunting at the same time.

Mark.
