a dead tree in a forest of greenA Poem by TheAimlessWanderer.a dead tree in a forest of green roots choked full of mistrust fighting the urge to come to dust my roots dug deep into the ground no life could be found it all crumbled away just as any other day no reason to stay no where to leave to nowhere nowhere my rotted roots no place for them to lay no light for the weak no day no summers day no winters moons no day only gray eternal shade of the tall trees a maze of haze where all your useless pleas stay from all those days wept waiting for a chance waiting for a change but that day never came always the same it doesn't need to be raining for there to be no sun the light in my eyes flickers dwindles nothing left nothing for my soul to kindle reanimate from the ash no sparks no fire no desire the dead tree gives nothing and takes nothing away not winters moons nor even light of a day that dead tree in the forest of green even into the ground it couldn't creep away the strangling vines that made it stay suffocated it anyways the tree now gives as it takes away but it is still just same a dead tree in a forest of green no light for the weak no day only gray...
