A Unique Message

A Unique Message

A Poem by James Loggins
"

I live under what is called the Straight-Edge Lifestyle; it's basically you refuse to touch or take drugs, alcohol, or even tobacco products.

"
I love and adhere to the Straight-Edge lifestyle
This means no drugs, tobacco, or alcohol
I love it so much
That I want to spread the message to all
You see, I have a Pepsi logo
Tattooed on my left shoulder
Because I want teenagers to know
That they should be drinking that
Instead of all that liquor and beer
I also have the words drug and free
Tattooed on both my knuckles
You just can't help but ask me:
Why am I doing all this?
It's because I want other girls and guys
To stop torturing their health
Before one of them dies
Of all the drugs, tobacco and alcohol
That they feel like they have to do
But if you have the time
I have a unique message for you

You have great strength and wisdom. Your words told a powerful story. You are correct. Drugs and alcohol just kill the brain cells and leave you broke down. The message is strong and very good. Thank you.

First, i love your stand on no drugs or Alcohol. I myself have taken the same stand...(my grandmother died from smoking, My uncle was hit by a drunk and killed. Yet they blamed it on my uncle because he was the one who ran the stopsign). Second, I like your poetry however it lacks the ryming, smooth flow of a poem. But over all a very good job.
