Red Trail

Red Trail

A Poem by Jenny-Jen-Jen
"

Watching as your own Broken Night's turn to Better Tomorrow's. A poem about finding yourself and HOPE, through moments of weakness.

"

Red Trail

Broken nights, filled with hallucinogenic visions;

A taunting game of fears and doubt.

My only company -- the demons who dance,

Wildly across my reoccurring dreams.

Peace; a forgotten town in my mind,

The neon signs, no longer welcoming.

My heart, just a lonely accomplice,

To the artists who move across the sky --

With a flicker of light.

Forcing laughter and faking beautiful smiles;

Shields of paper are crumbling.

With red trails, scarring porcelain skin,

Is the creation of abandonment -- a frequent visitor.

And it seems hope is lost.

But, though a storm is rising,

And these walls are shattered now,

Belief in hope has once again evolved.

Brighter days are in store, tomorrow;

The best of me -- yet to come.

Crimson lakes will find their drought,

Turmoil seas, soften out.

And when the morning light breaks the sky,

The broken nights will be long forgotten.

The poem is amazing. I had to read many times. The strong statements create powerful visions. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poem.
