DisappointmentA Poem by Jenny-Jen-Jeni felt like writing a poem, which doesn't happen often any more. it's not great, but it is writing
The waves move beneath you as you follow your heart home, And you left. Left me… my soul with nothing to do but roam. And I wonder what I could have done to have had you stay.
I blame myself, when I should blame you for the skies above so gray.
Now, all I wonder is why you ripped apart our hearts.
Destroying our hope while throwing your masochisticdarts.
And yet, I still miss you and long for your return.
But my feelings never have been a part of your concern.
Our past victories, long forgotten and swept under the rug.
I had to watch as you walked away, so tall and so smug.
Now all I feel is the loss of what we might have had,
While your feelings consist of only two: happy and glad.
You’re out of this trap, this holster of love.
For good, as you wish. It’s your sign from above.
Maybe we’re better off this way, down the road I may see,
That this disappointment may be worth it and then I’ll agree. © 2009 Jenny-Jen-JenAuthor's Note
