Culling the HerdA Poem by Daft JesterWith all the flooding lately, this seemed appropriate.Minute by minute it grows higher Enveloping, cleansing Soiling and moving So essential and deadly Life giving and murderous depth It comes from the sky And from the ocean It comes to destroy your home Sweep away your life Drown you in eddies It comes for your family Your memories Your sweet everything The exits are blocked There is no end in sight It keeps pouring All through the night It sucks you away And holds you dear Sweet mother nature Is culling her herd. © 2011 Daft Jester |
