DrowningA Poem by Phillip FrancisIt's become difficult to catch my
breath, everybody wants something, there is
always somewhere to be, something to do, losing touch with the here and now, treading to keep my head above water.
Drowning
Time is racing, I can't keep up, picking up speed just to maintain the
pace, still not fast enough, tired, isolated, the strings begin to unravel, I struggle to stay afloat.
Drowning
I miss my life, this is not what I'm currently
engaged in, I'm alive, but only physically, conciseness vanished, going through the motions, playing the game, slowly circling the drain.
Drowning
Anger, frustration, annoyance, stew
within, keep it buried, deep, fertilizing exhaustion, overwhelming emotions circle round
and round like an endless whirlpool.
Drowning
Toss me a life preserver, the ship's going down.
